The Task: Capture the Spirit of Texas & Oklahoma in a Mural

The goal was to create a visually striking "Find the Can" mural that not only featured hidden Red Bull cans but also authentically represented the entire Red River Region—spanning Texas and Oklahoma. The design ideally needed to resonate with local employees, incorporating iconic landmarks, cultural touch points, and regional pride while staying cohesive as a single piece of artwork.

The Challenge: Blending Diverse Cities into One Story

With such a large and diverse region, the biggest hurdle was making sure every key metro—Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Oklahoma, and beyond—felt represented without the mural looking overcrowded or disjointed. Each city has a distinct vibe, from cowboy culture in Fort Worth to Austin’s live music scene, Oklahoma’s collegiate pride, and Houston’s space legacy. The challenge was balancing all these elements while maintaining a seamless, eye-catching design.

The Solution: A Thoughtful, Layered Approach

To make it work, we took a strategic approach:

  • Curated Key Icons – Pulled in standout visuals from each metro (Big Tex, Stockyards, Route 66, the Alamo, UT’s Hook ‘Em, etc.) to ensure local pride was front and center.

  • Blended Artistic Styles – Used a cohesive art style to weave together urban skylines, natural landscapes, and cultural symbols so everything felt unified.

  • Engaging "Find the Can" Concept – Integrated Red Bull cans in clever ways throughout the mural, encouraging interaction and discovery.

The final piece became more than just a mural—it was an immersive experience, turning the Red River Region’s culture into a game that engaged consumers while reinforcing Red Bull’s presence in the market.
